Detectives in north London are appealing for information to identity four suspects involved in a robbery and car-jacking.

Police were called at 18:15hrs on Saturday, 18 July, to reports of a robbery on Broomfield Avenue, N13.

Officers attended and were told that a man, aged his mid-20s, had been sitting in his parked Mercedes when he was approached by four males in a black coloured Audi, who pulled him from his car.

The suspects threatened the victim, intimating that they had knives, and left the scene with the victim’s car and the Audi.

The victim did not sustain serious injuries.

The Audi was found abandoned in a nearby street and was seized for forensic examination; it has since been found to have been stolen from an address in Hertfordshire.

A 17-year-old male [A] was arrested on Sunday, 19 July on suspicion of robbery. He was taken to a north London police station. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police enquiries identified the Audi as having been concerned in a number of incidents that same day where vehicles were followed and drivers threatened and intimidated in the Barnet and Enfield area.

Detective Constable Neil MacLeod, investigating, said: “We are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend all of the suspects involved in this incident, but we need your help. I urge anyone with information to help us identify these men without delay.

“At this point nobody has sustained serious injuries, but the suspects have threatened people with serious violence and have robbed one victim of his car.

“We are aware of footage circulating on social media relating to this incident. I am very keen to hear from anyone who has information that could identify those involved.

“If you know something, please just make the call, anonymously if necessary, and help us take these dangerous individuals off your streets.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting Cad 6753/18Jul.

To remain anonymous call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. You will not be asked for your name and your IP address is not recorded.
