The Southgate Ward Safer Neighbourhood Team, together with the council's Journeys and Places Team and the Met Police, are running an event on 14th March to find out women's feelings about their safety in Southgate town centre.

The "Walk, Talk and Do initiative" will take place between 3pm and 7pm on Friday 14th March and will be based at the Southgate Club, not far from Southgate Station (17 Chase Side N14 5BP). It will be an opportunity for local women to share their views and experiences with officers about any area of the town centre they may feel vulnerable in.

The activity will include walkabouts to different areas of the town centre as well as the opportunity to share suggestions on how it can be made safer.

I think it is interesting that this post doesn't say why we got to this situation of needing the survey in the first place. It is a bit of an 'elephant in the room' and understand fully why this has come about but a shame it has to take this kind of initiative to address it.
