People living in Enfield and some other north London boroughs have an opportunity to take part in a 'group buy' scheme and install environmentally friendly and cheaper heating in their homes at a reduced price.
Group Buy North London is a community renewable energy scheme set up by Muswell Hill Sustainability Group in conjunction with Retrofit. It offers households an opportunity to have heating systems installed in their homes that emit greatly reduced amounts of carbon dioxide into the environment, thus helping combat climate change, while at the same time cutting annual heating costs.
Through being a group-buy scheme, it is able to take advantage of collective purchasing power, securing bulk discounts of up to 25% off installation costs and lower energy bills.
The scheme is available to households in Enfield, Barnet, Haringey, Islington, Camden, Brent, Waltham Forest and Tower Hamlets, but this list is not exhaustive - depending on circumstances, it may be available in other boroughs too.
The scheme is supported by Innovate funding and is designed to make renewable energy more accessible, while strengthening our local installer network and helping to develop green skills.
