Beer, Blues & BBQ at the Black Barn

Back for the first time since 2019 the Beer, Blues & BBQ finally returns following our Covid enforced absence. Featuring ales from New River Brewery and a fantastic BBQ, come and join us for a relaxed afternoon and evening of outstanding blues from some of our favourite acts. With a Blues line-up curated as always by the legendary St Harmonicas Blues Club.

6.00-7.00pm: House Red
The powerful vocals of Chrissie Thomas have been likened to Ottilie Patterson. House Red consists of the house band form the award nominated St Harmonicas Blues Club with John Crowther on guitar, Simon Bennett on keyboards, Les Cole on drums and Dave Thomas on bass. A vintage and eclectic blend of rocking and soulful blues.

7.45-8.45pm: Spikedrivers
One of the most original, innovative and exciting bands around, their combination of gutsy slide guitar, rock solid bass, infectious grooves and highly distinctive vocals creates a sound that is uniquely their own. They take you on a journey, from southern juke-joints and lazy front porches to the huge open spaces of dust bowls and railroad tracks disappearing into the distance.

9.30-10.30pm: The Blues Chapter
Hot-shot Texas blues at it’s finest with the outstanding combination of Jesse Thomas’ guitar and Sky Wood’s vocals. St Harmonica’s Blues Club’s favourite band, the Blues Chapter are quite simply one of the most exciting acts on the circuit. Dancing guaranteed.
