Big Green Climate Festival: Bambos Charalambous MP and Kate Osamor MP discuss COP26

Friday 24 September 2021 7.00pm - 9.00pm

Barnet & Southgate College (Southgate Campus), High Street, N14 6BS

Two of our local Members of Parliament, Bambos Charalambous MP and Kate Osamor MP, will be joined by Fiona Dear from the Climate Coalition to talk about the climate emergency and what must be urgently done.

This meeting, organised by Enfield Climate Action Forum (EnCaf), is kindly hosted by Barnet and Southgate College and Enterprise Enfield.

Climate change is accelerating faster than expected. If we don't take action to limit temperature increase to 1.5% by the end of the century, we face disastrous consequences both in the UK and globally. Soaring temperatures, flooding, sea level rises and population displacement will increase. We're looking at societal collapse and a threat to public health.

With world leaders meeting in November at COP26, we must ensure they act to make a difference. Fiona Dear will explain what the Climate Coalition believes should be done. And we look forward to hearing from our MPs and finding out what they intend to do.

We will also hear from Enterprise Enfield. And EnCaf is very grateful for their support of this event.

Places are strictly limited and access will only be allowed on production of a printed Eventbrite ticket at the College security hut. We regret that we cannot allow anyone without a ticket to enter
