Who's on when?
Week 1- Sunday 3rd August - St Harmonica's Blues
1:30 - 2:30 OPEN MIC SESSIONS
2:30 - 3:45 DOC K'S BLUES BAND
There are some who say that Doc K's Blues Band are the finest purveyors of Chicago Blues in the capital - they are certainly one of the longest running. Formed in Muswell Hill in 1966, just like Trigger's broom, Doc K has seen many new handles and heads but it is still the same band! Mad Dog Dave Barnes has been a constant presence in the band for more than 40 years. Dave has just about the finest voice in UK Blues, anc plays a mean slide guitar too. And for the first time in its history Doc K boasts a genuine MD in the form of former neurologist Dr Ika on lead guitar. Mick Parker anc Dave Thomas provide the groove. This is authentic blues at its very best.
4.00- 5.30 THE BLUES CHAPTER
The Blues Chapter are probably the finest young Blues band in London. They are certainly the most popular band we've ever put on at St Harmonica's. Comprising Sky Wood on vocals, guitar and harmonica and with Jesse Thomas on sizzling, hot shot guitar and Jacob "Professor Redhair" Thomas on keys anc piano, you'll see shades of Gary Moore, SRV and Joe Bonamassa in their repertoire; a great festival band and along with Doc K, a superb way to start the 2025 Broomfielc Blues series.
All timings approximate.
Week 2 - Sunday 10th August - Chicago Blues with Twang
1:30 - 2:30 OPEN MIC SESSIONS
2:30 - 3:30 THE FRAN MCGILLIVRAY BAND
The magnificent Fran McGillivray Band make a welcome return to Broomfield Blues with their rootsy take on the blues. Featuring Mike Burke on guitar and Roger Nunn on drums and percussion, Fran McGillivray fronts the band singing and playing bass and delivering a repertoire from roots blues to the rocking blues of Albert King.
3:45 - 5:30 THE CUSTOMTONES
Martin Fieber, the 'Sultan of Slide', is perhaps the UK's best kept slide secret. He brings his hugely talented band, the Customtones, one of the finest and tightest units around, to Broomfield. Martin is not known as the Sultan of Slide for nothing, he makes all his own guitars under his 'Customtone' label and the tone and the sound he achieves is staggering, master of the twang sound; some of his original material is equally wonderful. The rest of the band too are all masters of their instruments, with Mick Parker on drums, Terry Duggan on bass and Steve Taylor on keyboards. By the way, the sun always shines when the Customtones play!
All timings approximate.
Week 3 - Sunday 17th August - Swamp and classic Blues
1:30 - 2:30 OPEN MIC SESSIONS
2:30 - 3:30 THE STEVE COOK BAND
Local musician Steve Cook served his musical apprenticeship playing with some of the masters on the UK Blues scene, including Big Joe Louis amongst others. He established his own music projects in the nineties, including his legendary heavy rock/blues outfit The Hook. Today Steve brings his powerful trio including Les 'Cozy' Cole on drums and Jim West on bass to bring you original and reinterpreted psychedelic swamp rock/blues in his own unique style - designed to electrify you.
3:45 - 5:30 THE CRUISIN' MOOSES

All times approximate.
Week 4 - Sunday 24th August - Bringing it on home
1:30 - 2:30 OPEN MIC SESSIONS
2:30 - 3:30 HOUSE RED
House Red is the house band from the award-nominated St Harmonicas Blues Club. An outstanding band led by the powerful vocals of Chrissie Thomas (likened to the late, great Ottilie Patterson), with John Crowther on guitar, Simon Bennett on keyboards, Les Cole on drums and Dave Thomas on bass. House Red deliver a vintage and eclectic blend of rocking and soulful blues. These are the people that make the local blues scene happen!
3.45 - 5.30 THE SPIKEDRIVERS
One of the classiest acts on the Blues & Roots scene, Spikedrivers have been described as 'haunting', 'gutsy', 'tribal' and even psychedelic. Blues in Britain says, "From the first note, Spikedrivers demand to be listened to. Ben Tyzack, Constance Redgrave and Maurice McElroy are three very talented musicians willing to experiment and evoke unusual contemporary sounds while they continue to keep diggin' the blues by the roots." From the early blues of Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker and Big Bill Broonzy they have added their own blend of north African and Native American rhythms, gospel harmonies, sixties blues and rock guitar. 2025 will be their final year together, don't miss them. A wonderful act to finish the 2025 Broomfield Blues series.
