You are invited to a magical day of creativity, music and adventure when Tales Big Day Out returns to Chickenshed on Saturday 25 July.
Designed especially for children aged 0-7 years and their families, this event transforms the entire theatre and gardens into an exciting world of discovery, with interactive activities and live performances around every corner.
Running in two sessions, 10.00am–12.00 noon and 1.00pm–3.00pm, Tales Big Day Out promises hours of fun in Chickenshed's warm, welcoming and inclusive environment.
Children can enjoy an exciting programme of music, dancing, storytelling, puppet-making, arts and crafts, alongside plenty of opportunities to play, explore and let their imaginations run wild. Every activity is delivered in the signature Tales style, combining creativity, participation and a healthy splash of silliness.
This year's event also features two delightful guest performances.
Tempo Tales: The Tambourine Who Needed a Beat, presented by Megan Audrey Bell, is a joyful interactive storytelling adventure packed with music, movement and audience participation. Young audiences will join Tappy the Tambour as he journeys through the Forest of Harmony, discovering courage, confidence and friendship while meeting the Percussion Family. Children are encouraged to clap, sing, move and make music throughout the performance.
Families can also enjoy The Smallest Sardine of the Seven Seas, presented by Sardine Theatre. This original mini musical follows a tiny fish on an unforgettable adventure to find confidence and discover that our differences are something to celebrate. Along the way, children will meet a piano-playing crab, search for hidden treasure and enjoy a charming first theatre experience that's fun for the whole family.
Whether it's making puppets, joining in with songs, listening to stories or simply exploring the vibrant spaces around the theatre, Tales Big Day Out offers something for everyone and creates magical memories for children and adults alike.
