This autumn, Enfield residents will have the chance to pick up practical skills to keep their bikes in good working order. You can book onto one of four basic bike Maintenance workshops, each with 10 free places available.
The five-hour sessions are designed for anyone over 16 who wants to build confidence in caring for their bike. You’ll learn how to fix a puncture, adjust brakes, index gears and lubricate your chain correctly – the everyday essentials that will help you enjoy safer and smoother cycling.
Workshops will run from 10.30am to 3.30pm (with a 30-minute lunch break). Please bring your own bike and wear clothing you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
What you’ll cover
Morning session (10.30am – 12.45pm): bike checks, removing and replacing wheels and tyres, puncture repairs, and gear adjustment.
Afternoon session (1.15pm – 3.30pm): further gear adjustments, brake pad replacement, cable and chain lubrication, plus tips on the right tools and simple checks to keep your bike roadworthy.
