A 4.2 mile community walk organised by Better Streets for Enfield (a Living Streets local group).
Free but with limited places - advance booking essential.
The walk will chart a stretch of the New River’s original course, including the attractive Enfield Loop, but also uncover some of the newer, more hidden, sections, revealing how this man-made waterway evolved in an increasingly urban landscape. The surfaces will be mostly pavement and gravel path, with no steep gradients. Dogs on lead welcome.
Start point: Outside Enfield Town Station. From Palmers Green the 121 bus stops opposite the station. The 329 takes a shorter route, but stops further away from the station - alight at the London Road/Cecil Road stop.
End point: Masons Corner, Winchmore Hill (junction of Green Lanes and Green Dragon Lane). Buses 329 (to Palmers Green) and 125 (to Southgate) stop here.
