Fundamentals of self-defence workshop - in aid of Solace

Online event

202106 self defence

We are fundraising for Solace. Join our self-defence workshop to learn how to empower yourself and feel more confident when walking alone.

The recent tragic disappearance of Sarah Everard in London has brought to light one of the most common women’s fear: walking the streets alone at night.

How many women have ever texted their best friends to reassure them they got safe home after a night out? How many women have ever felt scared of walking home alone, clutching their keys between their fingers?

This should be unacceptable in 2021, but unfortunately, it still happens more than ever.

To reduce any kind of female attacks, from robbery to sexual assault, something needs to be done and attend a self-defence workshop is a wise choice for women of all ages to bring safety and confidence in their daily life.

This workshop about women empowerment, hosted in collaboration with The MØTUS Academy, wants to provide you with the fundamentals of self-defence to protect yourself against all types of attacks, focusing on empowerment, prevention, and awareness.

This event will also allow us to fundraise for a London women charity organisation, Solace Women's Aid, which for more than 45 years has supported women and girls in London to build safe and strong lives and free them from abuse and violence and providing services to meet the needs of survivors.

Our objective is to raise at least a minimum of £500 - £1,000, which could help Solace to set a woman and her family up in a safe house, with basic furniture, starting their new lives and to provide therapeutic support as well as advice and advocacy.

This is a Pay-As-You-Feel basis event in aid of Solace, meaning you can donate what you want to. A minimum donation of £5 is suggested to help us to reach our fundraising goal, but if you’re not in a position to donate so, you are still very welcome to attend.

JOIN OUR EVENT TO EMPOWER YOURSELF AND BECOME YOUR OWN HERO WHILE SUPPORTING SOLACE TO FREE WOMEN AND CHILDREN FROM VIOLENCE AND ABUSE TODAY.
