Enfield Give and Take events

Upcoming events
- Tuesday 9 December 2025, 11am to 3pm at Enfield Library
- Wednesday 10 December 2025, 11am to 3pm at Edmonton Green Library
Our waste and recycling team carry out quarterly Give and Take events. These events promote re-using no longer needed items such as clothing, toys, books, DVDs and more.
The Give and Take events are free entry. The items are free for you to take away. This is a great way to provide a new home to your unwanted household items.
The events are like a 'bring-and-buy sale', but with no money involved. You can donate unwanted items and take away useful things from other people, all for free.
Give and Take events are a great way to extend the life of good household items which might otherwise have gone in the rubbish. This also encourages residents to waste less and save money - important during the cost-of-living crisis.
Reuse is the next best option to not creating any waste in the first place. Reuse means you’ll be reducing your waste and helping someone else pick up something useful at no cost.
How it works
You can bring all kinds of things to Give and Take days – books, photo frames, cups, clothing, school uniforms, shoes, board games and toys.
During each event, residents are able to bring along their donations and these are then logged by our team before being offered, for free to other residents.
People do not need to give something to take something.
