Green Open Homes 2026

Muswell Hill Sustainability Group are again extending their invitation to their annual Green Open Homes event to Palmers Green Community readers.

With UK energy bills rising by four per cent, the highest price cap in three years, and forecasts for early 2027 warning of another 25% to 30% jump, the annual Green Open Homes event is this year as much about cutting energy bills as reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It offers solutions for every pocket and every living situation, from architect retro-fits to balcony solar panels.

Green Open Homes events are held around the country. In north London Muswell Hill Sustainability Group run the annual event in association with the Muswell Hill & Fortis Green Association. This year, between 2nd and 16th November, they will be offering 29 free tours of eleven local energy-efficient homes around N2, N6, N8, N10 and N22, ranging from flat retrofits to architect redesigns to mid-build refurbishments.

The tours will take place on two weekends - 7th and 8th November, and 14th and 15th November. Additionally, there will be three free speaker evenings on 2nd, 9th and 16th November, with a crack team of professionals offering their expertise and insights. The speaker evenings will be held at Muswell Hill Methodist Church, but you can also watch live or catch up later on YouTube.
