The Museum of Enfield presents Industry Exhibition talk: Sir Jules Thorn, the man and his empire

Sir Jules Thorn was born in Austria and emigrated to England in the early 1920s. Over the ensuing 60 years he created a substantial group of successful companies operating in the electronics sector. At its peak, Thorn Electrical Industries was one of the UK's largest electrical businesses, employing over 100,000 people, and including such well known names as Thorn Lighting, Ferguson Radio, Radio Rentals, DER, Tricity and Kenwood.

Come along to Dugdale Arts Centre for an engaging talk on Sir Jules Thorn and his electrical empire. Delivered by Dr Jim Lewis, an author, researcher and broadcaster speciailising in the Lea Valley, as well as being a former Thorn EMI Ferguson employee!

The talk will last for 60mins with time at the end for questions
