Art Themen - saxophone A very important name on the British jazz scene since 1960s it is a great pleasure to have Art aboard for this gig! Still as passionate and swinging as ever, Art is ideally suited to playing the music of Mingus!

From his acclaimed classic jazz quintet, the Basin Street Brawlers to his project ‘Mighty Like the Blues’ with guitarist Jim Mullen, and his hip-hop inspired group ‘Electric Relaxation’ Pete defies category! As professor of jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire since 2007, Malcolm has played an important role in mentoring the next generation of young British jazz artists.
Kate Williams - piano An inventive and highly respected jazz pianist on the UK Jazz scene Kate as performed widely. As well leading and composing for her own groups she also performs with many British artists including Gareth Lockrane, Tina May, John Etheridge, Stan Sulzman and Karen Sharp.
Larry Bartley - bass One of the most sought after bass players in London, Larry’s strong musical presence has been heard in the bands of Courtney Pine, Jean Toussaint, Soweto Kinch and Juliet Roberts to name a few. But he is also a composer and band leader in his own right - his octet has been broadcast by the BBC from the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.
Ethan Sweeting -drums Since leaving Trinty Laban in 2025 Ethan has already become a ‘name to watch’ on the UK scene.
