Mums for Lungs: Air Pollution - its health impacts, and what you can do about it

Thursday 25 November 2021 8.00pm - 9.00pm

Online Event

202111 mums for lungs webimar

Join us for a chat about the basics of air pollution - what is it, what are its health impacts, and what can we do about it?

Air pollution is linked to asthma, heart attacks, strokes and lung cancer, and it's causing our children to grow up with stunted lungs. Please join us as we discuss the causes of air pollution, and how we can both protect ourselves and reduce our contribution to it.

The event will be a conversation between Sharon Christy, an East London GP, Ruth Fitzharris, a parent from North London and Jemima Hartshorn, Mums For Lungs' founder. There will be a Q+A session at the end - so please bring your questions and concerns.

More about our speakers:

Sharon is a GP in east London and a member of Greener Practice London, which is a network of primary care staff working together to raise awareness about the health benefits of climate action and to make primary care more sustainable.

Ruth is concerned about air pollution and lives in north London with her son, who has asthma.

Jemima founded Mums for Lungs in 2017, after discovering how bad the air in Brixton was for her baby son. Mums for Lungs raises awareness of air pollution, and campaigns for more action from local and national government, to clean up our air.
