The producer and band behind the hugely popular Fire & Rain & American Pie are back with a sequel, Beyond the Streets of London, featuring UK-based Folk-Pop artists from the same era.
Throughout the Swinging Sixties, artists such as Ralph McTell, Cat Stevens, Lindisfarne, the Seekers, Steelye Span, Sandy Denny, Mary Hopkin and a few quirky ‘one-hit wonders’ (!) went toe-to-toe in the pop charts with Rock/Pop giants such as the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. A few of the Beatles’ acoustic-folky songs will also feature in this show, as their influence and inspiration spread throughout all popular music of the time.
The evening promises to be another fascinating, melancholic, often whimsical journey (including screen images) back to an extraordinary era of songwriting. Who said nostalgia ain’t what it used to be!
