Quilt a small table top runner

Sunday 10 October 2021 11.00am - 5.00pm

Stitch! - inside Palmers Green Post Office, 364 Green Lanes N13 5XL

With Carol Balfe and Susan Mehmet

What you will learn

Learn the basics of modern machine quilting including learning about fabrics, cutting, using a rotary cutter, patchwork construction and putting the runner together including the binding. The design will be based on a small table runner. If you have no experience of using a sewing machine it is recommended that you take the ‘get to know your machine’ session before booking on this course. Otherwise, no previous quilting experience is required.

Carol and Susan will demonstrate each step of the process before you put the techniques into practice in the workshop.

What you need to bring

4-6 colour matched fat quarters or 4-6 1/4 metre lengths of fabric.

A non stretch fabric is essential such as pure cotton or a polycotton mix. Not suitable for wools.

Please bring your own fabric or pop in the shop in advance of the course and choose from our selection. (There are Janome sewing machines and equipment on site for you to use though you can bring your own sewing machine if you prefer and rotary cutter etc.)
