Thames21 and Enfield Council are teaming up to deliver conservation and restoration events in Enfield, creating cleaner and healthier spaces for wildlife and people.

Join us at Bowes Meadow where we will be holding a river clean-up to improve the health of the Pymmes Brook.

The aim of this event is to remove harmful and unsightly rubbish from the Pymmes Brook river. We will be doing an in-channel river clean-up, removing rubbish and litter. It is extremely beneficial to catch litter and rubbish before it leaves the upper catchment and enters the Thames and the sea.

The section of the Pymmes Brook that runs through Bowes Meadow is a wonderful bit of river. It is a stretch of river where the Pymmes Brook flows through a large green space, surrounded by trees, shrub and allotments. However this area has been abused by a minority and is now quite heavily burdened by litter. Come down and join us for a River Action Day, see for yourselves and help make a difference!

To complete these tasks volunteers will be putting on waders and jumping in the shallow wetland and river, but there will also be lots of activities to do on the banks for people who don’t want to go into the water.

Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary. We provide all the tools, equipment and training so you can just turn up and get stuck in! Please use the link below to register in advance.
