Room One Theatre Company presents Infernal: A Brontë Story

Wednesday 16 July 2025 until Saturday 19 July 2025 7.30pm

Incognito Theatre, Holly Park Road, Friern Barnet, N11 3HB//////holly.wash.prefer

Written and directed by Harry Harding

Incognito Theatre is delighted to welcome Room One Theatre Company as a guest company and their production of Infernal: A Brontë Story.

Room One is an award-winning professional theatre company based in Hertfordshire and North London. In 2024 it won an Offies Commendation award for its successful revival of Sam Bain’s The Retreat.

Following its acclaimed professional London debut last year, Infernal: A Brontë Story returns to the stage, bringing with it the same extraordinary cast who first brought this haunting tale to life - along with exciting new performers to further enrich the telling of this powerful story. Described as "a piece to treasure" and "a promising homage to the Brontës", this gripping drama explores the turbulent relationship between Branwell Brontë and his sister Emily, his rivalry with Charlotte, and the inner demons that led to his tragic downfall.

Adam Griffin returns to the Incognito stage as Branwell Brontë, a role he first played in Brontë by Polly Teale at Incognito Theatre in 2016. Joining him are original cast members Katie Hart and Jed McLoughlin, alongside exciting new additions Cara Heal and Jessica Ivy, bringing fresh energy to this powerful retelling.

Harry Harding also returns to the Incognito stage, this time as writer and director: "I am so excited to bring this production to Incogs. The chance to put this piece on this stage, is a real full circle moment for me, and feels like coming home"
