Rumours of Spring: A Global Series on Hope for the Future
Discover the extraordinary in the everyday.
Rumours of Spring brings critically acclaimed international cinema to Enfield. Join us every Saturday in July for a month of award-winning films, showcasing ordinary human stories which inspire us to dream of a better future.
Inspired by Farah Bashir's memoir of the same name detailing her life as a young girl growing up against the backdrop of conflict in Kashmir, the films in Rumours of Spring place the lives of women and girls centre stage – from the women whose neighbourhood is undergoing gentrification in Turkey to the unionisation of garment factory workers in Bangladesh – discover the extraordinary lives of ordinary women from across the globe from a selection of ground-breaking women filmmakers.
Alongside the films, the festival will include an exciting programme of community-led cultural events, panel discussions and Q&As with filmmakers, and an art installation by British-Kashmiri artist Hussina Raja.
