St Harmonica's Blues Club: Low Down Dogs + 2 Man Job

Friday 15 July 2022 8.30pm

The Southgate Club, 17 Chase Side, N14 5BP (Entrance is in Crown Lane)

202207 low down dogs

Temperatures may or may not be going through the roof this weekend but on Friday you will be the coolest people in North London thanks to this week’s offering at St Harmonica’s Blues Club and the air conditioning system at the Southgate Club.

Professor Redhair have had to postpone their gig but we have the Low Down Dogs stepping up to the plate with their eclectic take on the blues with material from the Mississippi Delta to the New River Delta! A discerning band of musicians, the Low Down Dogs feature ‘Mad Dog’ Dave Barnes on vocals, slide guitar and harmonica with John Crowther on lead guitar. Peter Abernethy and Dave Thomas provide the rhythm section and all four members take vocal duties at some point in the evening giving you blues with a feeling.

And this week we are reverting to free admission for the evening with voluntary donations into the hat according to what you feel the evening is worth and what you feel you can afford. We have never felt that live music should be free but, as we keep banging on; at St Harmonicas we do believe that music should be accessible and affordable. We’re also hoping that this will help to bring number up to past levels so tell, and bring, your friend(s).

Support comes in the form of ‘Two Man Job’, Sky Wood with Jesse Thomas adding their duo performance and presence to the evening.

You really shouldn’t miss this, free admission, we’ll see you there.
