We're looking forward to this Friday when one of the classiest acts on the Blue & Roots scene play St Harmonica’s. Spikedrivers are a band whose music has been described as 'haunting', 'gutsy', 'tribal' and even psychedelic. Blues in Britain says, “From the first note, Spikedrivers demand to be listened to. Ben Tyzack, Constance Redgrave and Maurice McElroy are three very talented musicians willing to experiment and evoke unusual contemporary sounds while they continue to keep diggin’ the blues by the roots.” From the early blues of Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker and Big Bill Broonzy they have added their own blend of north African and Native American rhythms, gospel harmonies, sixties blues and rock guitar.

Support is another class act in the form of Manny Fizzotti - a lovely guitarist and vocalist.
Music starts at 8.30pm with the support act. Spikedrivers will play two sets starting at around 9.10pm. Admission is free to card holding St Harmonica's Blues Club members (membership for the year costs just £10). Otherwise £10 on the door. The hat is passed around to pay for the musicians.
