St Harmonica's Blues Club: Dirty Weather Blues Revue
Friday 20 December 2024 8.30pm
The Southgate Club, 17 Chase Side, N14 5BP (Entrance is in Crown Lane)
This is a fantastic end to 2024 at St Harmonica’s Blues Club this Friday 20th December. After a stellar show from Saints & Sinners last week this Friday sees the Dirty Weather Blues Review make their way up from Bristol to entertain us.
Dirty Weather Blues Review play the real blues from Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and Robert Johnson through to Rory Gallagher, SRV and beyond. Based in Bristol and a big part of that vibrant music scene the band was formed from established local musicians on a mission to deliver authentic, old-school live electric blues.
After headlining at his legendary Soho Blues Club, DWBR were rated by Gaz Mayall (son of John Mayall) as 'One of the hottest bands in the UK right now!’ They are also highly recommended by Potts who knows the Bristol scene well.
If you like the Blues Chapter, you will love the DWBR. Blistering lead guitar, catchy vocal harmonies, a rock solid rhythm section and haunting blues harmonica make this an evening not be missed, and a great way to end the year.
And they’re doing their own support too, Johnny and Slide will kick the evening off at 8.30pm with their take on acoustic Delta blues and country blues. This will be followed by two sets from the DWBR.
You’ll need your red 2024 membership card for admission on the night. If you haven’t yet become a member we can sell you this at the door for just £10 and, as this is the last show of the year, we will include your 2025 green membership card too.
As usual, the hat goes around for donations towards musicians’ costs.
See you there,
Simon, John, Chrissie & Dave
