St Harmonica's Blues Club: The Customtones + Kandur
Friday 22 May 8.30pm
The Southgate Club, 17 Chase Side, N14 5BP (Entrance is in Crown Lane)

We are always delighted to welcome the Customtones to St Harmonica’s. Simply one of our favourite bands of all time as well as one of the tightest outfits around, the Customtones are built around the unique slide sounds and original material of Britain’s best kept slide secret, Martin Fieber. Known on the scene as the 'Sultan of Slide’ Martin makes all his own guitars under the Customtone label, producing a unique and original sound from all of them recreating the authentic ’twang’ sound of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Martin’s version of Santo and Johnny’s Sleepwalk will take you right back with his masterful interpretation and playing. His own self penned songs are wonderful too, containing humour along with wry observation of an era while remaining faithful to the blues.
The rhythm section consists of the drumming of Doctor Mick Parker and the bass of Terry Duggan (the bass player’s bassist); they enable Martin to do his thing alongside the keyboard skills of Professor Steve Taylor.
Make sure you arrive in time to see the support act in the form of the vocals and guitar of Kandur, who has been impressing us at our monthly blues jams for some time now.
Support act starts at 8.30pm followed by two sets from the main starting soon after 9.00pm.
Membership Cards are available on the door @ £10 for the year. You’ll need your monochrome 2026 membership card for free admission throughout 2026 to all Friday Blues evenings and Sunday Jam nights. We just ask for a contribution into the hat to go towards the musicians’ costs.
See you soon,
Simon, John, Chrissie & Dave,
