St Harmonica's Blues Club: Big Dez + Manny Fizzotti

It has been a while since we had the pleasure of French based bluesman Big Dez play for us at St Harmonica’s. Blues guitarist BIG DEZ (Phil Fernandez) has been treading the boards for over 25 years across Europe and North America, mixing soulful, funky blues with traditional foot tappin’ blues grooves and rock ‘n’ roll.

The Big Dez style is electric blues mixed with a little funk, soul, and rock 'n' roll. Big Dez's 10th album, 'Chicken in the car and the car can't go ' was recorded in Paris and mixed in Chicago. 10 tracks with a strong contemporary blues feel and composed by singer and guitarist, Phil Fernandez ( Big Dez ).

Big Dez plays guitar with the chilling intensity of Albert Collins and performs great foot tappin’ blues and rock'n'roll grooves. "Big Dez delivers an immensely tasty and enjoyable set.....this album was mixed in Chicago, and it sounds like it. A real winner! " Blues in Britain magazine.

Big Dez has just returned from the US where he has been playing at Chicago blues clubs including headlining at Buddy Guy's Legends Club where he was joined on stage by Buddy Guy himself:

Friday’s support comes in the form of Manny Fizzotti, wonderful guitar and soulful vocals

Support act plays at 8.30pm followed by two sets from the main act starting soon after 9.00pm. You’ll need your red 2024 membership card for admission on the night. If you haven’t yet become a member we can sell you this at the door for just £10 and, as there's only one month of the year left, we will include your 2025 membership card too; deal of the year!
