St Harmonica's Blues Club: The Blues Chapter + Big Al Craig

The Southgate Club, 17 Chase Side, N14 5BP (Entrance is in Crown Lane)

202010 blues chapter

It seems that everybody loves the Blues Chapter. They still hold the record for the biggest crowd ever at St Harmonica’s, the only time that we have had to stop people coming in as limits were breached, so to avoid disappointment we thought we’d better put on two evenings at the Southgate Club on Friday 23rd October and Saturday 24th October. This is almost a residency!

The Blues Chapter are currently working on their new album of some of their original material which is nearing the final stages of production and are just one of the most exciting live bands that you’ll ever see and, they would argue, the best looking!. All lefties, apart from Jacob Thomas on keyboards who can use both hands, Sky Wood provides the vocals along with harmonica and guitars with Jesse Thomas on guitar and backing vocals. Niol Sweeney at the drum kit and Lindsay Fraser Craig on bass gives everyone a driving rhythm section. If you haven’t seen this band before you are in for a real treat, their own material combined with the best of Joe Bonamassa, SRV and Gary Moore.

Their recent run out at Broomfield Blues shows that during lockdown they have lost none of their ability to thrill and entertain. Expect some guest appearances too with support on Friday coming from Big Alan Craig

Take look at their Facebook page if you want to see more www.facebook.com/theblueschapter/

Tickets for the two evenings are available on the following links:

www.tickettailor.com/events/thesouthgateclub/439162 (Friday)

www.tickettailor.com/events/thesouthgateclub/439165 (Saturday)

The Southgate Club is fully complying with Tier 2 Covid guidelines and ticket numbers are strictly limited. You cannot be seated with people outside your household and cannot be in a group larger than 6 people. If the regulatory situation changes and we have to cancel you will of course receive a full and prompt refund.

As per the last two performances this Friday evening’s performance will be filmed and will be available on our You Tube Channel.

St Harmonica's at the Southgate Club

St Harmonica's is at the Southgate Club on Fridays - apart from the first Friday of the month. Instead of the first Friday of the month, St Harmonica's will be two days later, ie the Sunday after the first Friday (which in some months will be the second Sunday of the month).

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the club now operates differently from before.

  • You must book in advance and your contact details will be recorded - no tickets at the door
  • Links for buying tickets will be sent out to the email list six days before each show.
  • Audience size is limited to 70 people
  • All audience members must remain seated throughout and there will be table service.

Our collective interpretation of recent government announcements about group sizes is that with the Covid-secure measures that we have in place in our partnership with the Southgate Club we can proceed. This approach has also been approved by the Musicians Union. The social distancing measures we used at the Cinelli Brothers gig will all be in place with the addition of temperature readings taken at the door; anyone recording a high reading won’t be allowed in and will be refunded, and we are now limiting the maximum table size to six people. We have measures to keep the musicians safe as well as the audience. We hope that the situation will enable us to run our complete autumn programme unless Enfield becomes subject to specific local mini-lockdown measures, or the national guidelines and/or legislation change.

Coming up

Dates shown in red are Sunday night jam sessions.  Others are Friday nights.  There is no St Harmonica's on the first Friday of the month, when the Comedy Club is held in the hall.
