The River Ramblers: A theatrical journey along the Lee navigation

Points along the Lee Navigation towpath

The River Ramblers are coming, rambling the routes of the canals. Telling stories, singing songs and sharing their knowledge of the waterways. Come, listen, sing and celebrate Enfield and Tottenham’s vibrant waterside community, as they transport you on a journey fuelled by story and song!

In partnership with the Canal & River Trust, Face Front Inclusive Theatre have created a small performance company of professionals and volunteer performers to create three short performance pieces celebrating Enfield and Tottenham’s vibrant riverside communities.

These performances will take place at three locations along the Lee Navigation on 31st July & 1st August.

Work has already begun on this production, including these 4 songs…

  • Mooring & Roaring – Music & Lyrics by Grace Firth
  • Walking By – Music by Grace Firth, with lyrics that feature phrases from poems created by primary school children involved in Hinterlands Arts Programme.
  • Canal Song – Music by Grace Firth, lyrics taken from the poem ‘Canal Song’ by Ian McMillan.
  • A Boat, A Boat – A traditional song for singing in a round.
