Bowes Park Folk Club: Ellie McCann

Ellie McCann is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who plays a diverse range of self penned, traditional and instrumental music on banjo, mandolin and guitar, producing a creative and fresh folk sound.

Ellie started gigging at the age of 11 in the band the McCann Sisters and is now in the bands Burdock and Little Gidding, both of which have been making waves on the folk scene. Burdock was a New Roots finalist in 2019 and have since made their festival debut at Sidmouth Folk Week and supported acts such as Julie Felix. Little Gidding have built up a strong following on the London folk circuit and have played sold out gigs at Greennote and The Harrison.

Feature spot this month from Dan Raza. Dan Raza is one of the mainstays of the London singer-songwriter and folk roots scene. He has been praised by artists such as Chris Farlowe, Slaid Cleaves, Mary Gauthier and Jackie Oates and had a song included on Neil Young’s ‘Living With War’ website.
