While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Now that the existing Neighbourhood Watch has been disbanded, the way ahead seems to be to set up smaller more manageable ones.

In addition to the negative effect on insurance premiums, the spate of car thefts and most recently the theft of front garden planters and window boxes might suggest that we need one for (at least ) Lakeside Road.

Is anyone interested in forming and running one?

I'm already heavily committed to voluntary work (The Lakes Conservation Area and the Broomfield House Trust) so regretfully I can't take this on myself, but would support anyone willing to take the lead.
