Forum topic: Arnos Park - River Relocation Proposal Abandoned!

The Arnos Grove and Arnos Park WhatsApp groups are buzzing with the wonderful news that Enfield Council has finally dropped its contentious and unpopular plan to relocate Pymmes Brook through the centre of Arnos Park. Cllr. Paul Pratt, who represents the residents of Arnos Ward, announced this via his Facebook page. Paul is also an active supporter of Arnos Park, working with the Friends Of Arnos Park to enhance and maintain this very special place.

The river re-location proposal was opposed by the vast majority of park users, each having their personal view as to why this was a bad idea. This opposition to the proposal was brought together by the Arnos Park Preservation Society, whose members worked tirelessly to seek out ancient covenants, set up petitions, research the validity of various statements from the plan’s supporters, and seek the views and preferences of actual park users. So well done, to you all, and we thank you…..and we also thank Enfield Council for making this decision.
