Kay has got in touch with the following question:

I'm trying to confirm a memory of being in a children's home around 1990, it was close to the Great Cambridge Road. I recall it was called The Larches.

There is no record of it as a care home in the archives of Enfield social services.

Perhaps it was run by another borough or a charity?

If you have any information or ideas as to how I could proceed please let me know.

Thanks to Laurence for replying to Kay's query. He suggested that The Larches might have been in Barrowell Green, opposite the recycling centre - he says that the building he has in mind is now a children's centre run by Enfield Counciil.

However, subsequently I received a message from Kay saying: "My request can be closed! I have found out that it was not a residential care home, it was a private home on that street in N13."
