How are the loss of community spaces, the housing crisis, structural racism and the climate emergency connected? Join Landlines, a new peer learning project at Dugdale Arts Centre for local people aged 18–35 to come together and creatively explore how land ownership shapes the way we live, connect, and belong. An opportunity to involve younger people in conversations about the future of the borough where older voices currently dominate.

Currently in Enfield, older voices are louder in conversations around the future of the borough and how spaces are used. This project aims to centre younger voices and experiences to support more people being part of the conversation about developing our local community.

This project is for you if:

  • You’re curious about local history and how it impacts your life and your community
  • You want to be a part of a collaborative peer group of like-minded, curious souls
  • You’re interested in developing your creativity in a supportive environment
  • You want to learn about your Community Rights, including your right to collectively own and protect the spaces you love: skateparks, community centres, parks and even your local pub

💸 Alongside the learning programme, each participant will receive £350 to make a creative response to the project themes, which will be shared in a zine for the local community.

What to expect

  • The project will involve five weekly peer learning workshops on a Thursday evening
  • Each workshop will be facilitated by different practitioners: artists, historians, growers, community organisers, activists
  • You will work as a small group alongside resident artists RESOLVE COLLECTIVE throughout the project
  • RESOLVE will provide one-to-one support and guided activities to support you in developing your ideas and how you want to express yourself creatively
  • The first half of each workshop will be led by the different practitioners teaching on local history and alternative ways for collectively protecting community spaces
  • The second half of each workshop will be led by RESOLVE, who will lead creative activities to get you thinking and reflecting on what you’ve just learnt. The
activities will be accessible to all levels of creativity, you don’t need to see yourself as creative to take part.
  • We will close each workshop with a shared hot meal whilst we digest and reflect on what we’ve learnt.

The deadline for applying is 9am on 15th December 2025.

This project is supported using funding by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
