While we’re just about to move into the public examination stage of Enfield’s Local Plan, sitting above that in the UK’s planning hierarchy is the London Plan.
The London Plan
is the spatial development strategy for Greater London. It sets out a framework for how London will develop over the next 20-25 years and the Mayor’s vision for good growth. The current London Plan was published in 2021 since when work has been ongoing to prepare for the next one. Housing, transport, you name it, pretty much all the main themes which will influence our lives.
We can all engage in this, if not to contribute than to have some idea what may be coming at us from over the horizon – last time it was things like LTN’s and the densification of spaces close to transport hubs. Many were blindsided by these, but their development and intent had been long signalled in the plan’s development.
There's a web page where you can register for updates and also ways to contribute to its development.
