There have recently been two brief unauthorised traveller encampments in Broomfield Park. These were quickly cleared by our council. It’s nonetheless evident that there was some impact on our community, including local businesses.
Led by friends of the park, actions are now underway which are planned to give local support to the wider approach of our council - see www.enfield.gov.uk/services/your-council/grt#our-vision .
A temporary page has been added to the Friends of Broomfield Park (FOBP) web site - www.fobp.uk/unauthorised-encampments . This includes sources of information and actions which may be appropriate. Initially intended for park users, the intent is to extend it to also capture wider community aspects.
It is anticipated this source will be updated as the work progresses and additionally be used as the main, local, news site should an equivalent event reoccur.
Parallel work is planned to help our business community.
We wish to address such matters in support of our council and as a unified PG community. False stories and more generally risking raising community tensions unnecessarily via communication content are not part of this approach.
