I've just seen the report on the Enfield Independent website about the "Community Cleanup" that was held today round theback of the Ruth Winston Centre, organised by the Centre and with help from the Scouts and Barclays Bank.

I'm sure there are other places where something like this would be a good idea. Does anyone have any suggestions?

One of the many outputs of the cross generational linkage generated from a couple of Festival; grants to both RWC and the Explorers. They are working on and planning a terrific range of mutual support, exchanges and fun.
Someone was mentioning only today the dire state of several back alleys close to the High Street, eg behind the shops, off Devonshire Road and Trade Close for instance. Not routes used by many i guess other than residents above the shops and fronting businesees but often unpleasant from my occasional journeys to same.

One area that is ineviatably messy is the stretch from the Fox Lane railway footbridge taking in the grass verge of the few houses to the east as far as the Fox.

Several people ahve at different times over the last few years talked of having a high visibiity residents' (and business?) clean up of the main shopping street.
