The owner of the car wash applied for planning permission for this in early August 2014

In early September the planning comittee turned down the planning application.

In late September the Car wash opened regardless.

It was issued with a temporary stop notice by the council. The owner ignored this.

The council started to construct a prosecution case against the owner in October.

The owner appealed against the planning decision in October 2014. This appeal will not be heard until February 2015.

The council issued an Enforcement Notice and a Stop Notice on November 14th.

The court case was in December and the owner pleaded Not Guilty. This mean that the case will go to Crown Court on January 20th at considerable cost to local council tax payers.

Throughout this four month period this Car Wash has been operating freely virtually every day. The traffic is much worse now and the noise.

I am still trying to work out what the point of a Enfield Council Planning Enforcement Team is.

Does anybody know?
