The North Middlesex Hospital is again appealing for people to make and donate washbags for NHS staff uniforms.

colourful wash bags for NHS staff uniforms

Our hard-working staff and volunteers are continuing to work their socks off, and we're looking for some nimble-fingered donations of drawstring uniform bags, so that colleages can easily pop their used scrubs and tunics in the wash as soon as they get home.

What we need

  • We need bags which are made of cotton, washable at 60 degrees, and at least 50cm x 55cm (18" x 20" if you grew up before metric!).
  • An old cotton pillow case is ideal, or two 'fat quarters' if you're raiding your fabric stash!
  • Any pattern or colour as long as it doesn't run in the wash.
  • A drawstring or ribbon enclosure at one end.

You can find instructions at a number of online craft sites, including here, and lots of video tutorials

Please email us if you need any more information, or to arrange handover, and please accept our most grateful thanks for your time, skills and kindness.
