Enfield Wellbeing Network: a new partnership of organisations supporting people to improve their health and wellbeing

Enfield Wellbeing Network (EWN) is a collaboration between a number of local community organisations, which aims to enable people to set and achieve realistic goals to improve their health and wellbeing.

The Network, which has been set up by Age UK Enfield, Enfield Carers’ Centre and Mind in Enfield and Barnet, is available for free to people over 18 who are at risk of, or are managing, deteriorating health and wish to make positive changes and/or manage long term conditions.

A health and wellbeing worker will make an initial assessment to check that the EWN is able to help, and establish the individuals needs and desired outcomes. They will then make any appropriate referrals, or may work with the individual to develop a health & wellbeing plan, empowering the client to create their own achievable goals, for up to 12 weeks. This could be adopting a healthier diet, being more active, getting more social, or better managing long term health conditions.

The client may also be offered one to one support from a volunteer buddy or staff member, who will empower them to access community services and activities to achieve sustainable, long term health improvements.

Sue-Jane O’Keefe, Health and Wellbeing Worker from Age UK Enfield said:

‘We are delighted that the Enfield Wellbeing Network is now live and ready to take referrals. We have some fantastic team members on board, and excellent connections and relationships within the community. We really feel this project could make a huge difference to the health and happiness of people in Enfield. We have some brilliant group activities planned, health and wellbeing workshops, as well as specialist pop up health hubs targeting specific issues such as diabetes or COPD. We would encourage anyone who is ready and willing to make positive changes, to get in touch.
