Barrowell Green recycling centre has now partially re-opened to visitors with pre-booked appointments only. This is to ensure social distancing and safety to all visitors. Appointments are available, Monday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm. Specific appointment slots cannot be requested. There are restrictions on the amount and types of waste that will be accepted.

Access is by car only - no pedestrians. The Revive reuse shop will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

I'm feeling a little pedantic about this: cars can go, pedestrians can't. What about a poor old cyclist like me who has been delivering spent cooking oil by bike for years and years? I'm going to have a tantrum.

Of course my deliveries can wait, but it is a bit odd that a council which has been championing cycling for years didn't think to mention cyclists.
