Danielle Shap from Hilly Fields and Whitewebbs Community Litter Picking Group is hoping to set up “litter picking hubs” in the borough's four town centres, including Palmers Green.
My name is Danielle and as a resident I run a number of Enfield's litter picking groups, including the very successful Hilly Fields Community Litter Picking Group.
I have taken on a role supporting Cleanup Uk as part of their hubs programme. More information can be found at cleanupuk.org.uk/get-involved/hubs.
I am currently looking at setting up four new hubs across Enfield, with a personal hope to have one in each of the town centres/ key high streets across the whole borough. A hub is a location where I would be able to store equipment that local businesses, groups, organisations, schools, scouting associations, residents etc would be able to borrow the equipment to undertake picks. I would provide all support in setting the hub up, marketing it etc. In return I would just need a small update, including the number of attendees and bags collected added to our website.
