Tributes have been appearing on social media to Chris Bond, a longstanding Labour councillor in Enfield and former cabinet member for the environment. Chris represented residents in Ponders End, Enfield Lock and most recently Southbury.
Enfield Southgate MP Bambos Charalambous, himself a former Enfield councillor, paid the following tribute:
"Very sad to hear of the death of Cllr Chris Bond. He was a friend and colleague for over 20 years. His 34 years of public service for @EnfieldCouncil was immense. His sound judgment and advice were invaluable. His friendship and kindness will always be remembered. RIP Chris."
