Sunday 30th August will see a special family event - an afternoon of poetry, starting at the Library Green in Enfield Town and ending in Pymmes Park, Edmonton.

Between 1pm and 1.20pm Four Fabulous Enfield Poets - Mary Duggan, Roshni Beeharry, Julian Bishop and Christine Vial - will treat us to a short burst of poetry, including "The wonders of our Enfield Cedar Tree that grows on this Library Green", before sending off Emergency Exit Arts' Peace Poem on a voyage to Pymmes Park.

The voyage of the Peace Poem from Enfield to Edmonton

The Peace Poem was created by Emergency Exit Arts to commemorate the 100 years since the first day of peace after WWI. Designed with leading artist and poet Robert Montgomery, this 14ft-high artwork has been seen by thousands of people as it travelled along motorways to cities across the UK.

On Sunday 30th August it will be sent off from the Library Green by four of the Enfield Poets. It will travel along London Road, Park Avenue, Village Road, Church Street Edmonton and Victoria Road to reach Pymmes Park.
