Alison Chandler, Giovanna Iozzi, Kiare Ladner and Paul Lyalls will take 11 writers through an immersive workshop experience via the theme, 'Emerging'. You will write new flash fiction, short life-writing pieces and poetry, and/or apply your explorations to your existing writing work.

What does emerging mean to you? Are you emerging as a writer – giving yourself that title and all that goes with it? And at the moment, this summer, what is it like, trying to emerge into more normal way of life – have you been here before, at other times, in other ways? How is it, emerging from the experience of each novel you read – and how should your own readers – and your characters – emerge from the stories you want to tell? And how is each new poem or text an opportunity to begin again, emerging in a new way?

We will explore all this and more over an intensive, fun, supportive and productive three days in August! Expect to ’emerge’ with lots of new, exciting texts – some of which you can perfect and send for inclusion in a digital pamphlet to be distributed at a sharing evening (16 September) where you can read an extract of your work from the sessions and invite friends and family to listen (free to attend, free pamphlet download).
