COLLAGE WRITING ROOM November 2021 courses (Online via Zoom)

Our Autumn term continues this November/December with more courses, plus a chance to meet a Children’s Literary Agent: Christabel McKinley of David Higham Associates.

Finding the Poem: Set 2 with Paul Lyalls

A course for anyone who wants to liberate their creativity and immerse themselves in the joy of language. Playful, fun, entertaining, enlightening – explore your word power! All levels welcome.

Life Writing and Memoir Rolling Workshop with Giovanna Iozzi

This course is designed for everyone – whether you are already life writing or are wanting to make a start. Giovanna tailors material for individuals within the group, so that there is a range of exercises and suggested reading, allowing complete beginners to work alongside more established life writers.

Creative Writing Foundation Part 2 with Alison Chandler

Starting to write is so much easier with a support network. We’ve put together a Creative Writing Foundation course to help you explore the tools available to you as a writer, with space to discuss, practice and gain confidence. Part 2 builds on the fundamentals of storytelling, looking in more detail at ways to develop a sophisticated, full-length narrative.

Write Into Childhood with Sita Brahmachari

Write into Childhood is a course for anyone who feels inspired to write a story for children. Over this six-week course, Waterstones Children’s Book Prize Winner Sita will share many techniques for writing stories for readers aged from five through to middle grade to Young Adults!

Prioritise Your Writing with Alison Chandler

This workshop-based course is ideal if you want to make headway with your writing project whether a novel, a memoir, or a short story collection. Each session is tailored to participants’ specific goals.

Short Fiction Workshop with Kiare Ladner

Meet the Children's Agent: talk with Christabel McKinley of David Higham Associates

During this friendly session, Christabel will talk about how a literary agency works, what excites her interest, and how to hone your submission package. Please come ready to give a 2 minute ‘elevator pitch’ for your current project if you would like to. There will be time for questions too. £8. Thursday 9 December, 10.30am to 11.30am.
