Stephen Cox's first two novels combine depiction of life in 1970s America with science fiction ideas

A Palmers Green author whose work has won critical acclaim will next month be launching the paperback edition of his second novel. This October will also mark ten years since he committed to being a writer.

Our Child of Two Worlds by Stephen Cox will be published in paperback on 13th October. It's a sequel to Stephen's debut, Our Child of the Stars. The two novels combine family drama in 1960s America with new takes on a few classic science fiction ideas: a childless couple adopt an orphaned alien, and try to keep him safe - from danger on earth and in space.

Stephen will be launching the new edition both in person, at the All Good Bookshop in Turnpike Lane, and online via Zoom. Additionly, he'll be signing copies at Waterstone's in Enfield Town.

Our Child of the Stars was praised by the Guardian, Grazia, FT, the Mail and LA Times. ("...a wonderfully emotional, heart-warming journey of what it really means to be a parent" - LA Times). Our Child of Two Worlds has won similar acclaim. "Riveting, compelling, and emotionally charged: a page turner I loved”, "watch and be dazzled".
