claudeth whyteIf the latest edition of Anthony Webb's Palmers Green & Southgate Life dropped through your letterbox earlier this month, you'll probably already have read that Claude Whyte, one of the founding members of the Palmers Green Action Team, has been officially listed as "one of the women who make London great".

Claude runs two businesses from home, a marketing/project management company and is a director of her family's business - not to mention that she's raised three children and has four grandchildren. She will be playing an important role in the Palmers Green Youth Provision that will be launching this spring - in its early stages it aims to provide young people with a space to socialise and offer support to local families.

Claude's photograph appears in the Flickr album celebrating the women selected by the #BehindEveryGreatCity/Hidden Credits campaign, which ran for a year, starting from the centenary of women first getting the vote in UK general elections in 1918. The album presents a wonderful assortment of women of all ages and backgrounds, all nominated by Londoners. You can click on each woman's photo to see what the people doing the nominating wrote about her, but there is no comment attached to Claude's photo. It's high time this omission was rectified - you can add your own comments on Flickr, and, of course, you can always comment at the bottom of this article!
