Love Your Doorstep Enfield have been cooperating with many other organisations across the borough to organise coordinated help for vulnerable people or those who are self-isolating. They have set up links to online forms for those in need of help and for people who would like to volunteer.

Enfield Community Working Together

To all residents,

Over the last week we have been working on a plan for the borough prior to the hit of the Coronavirus.

I’m happy to inform you that the offering is now in place and all we can do is our best to help.

We are working with over 30 local charities, community organisations and not for profits and opened up lines of communication with them immediately in anticipation for what may come.

We have had volunteers register from across the borough, and they have been split up into 3 areas: Enfield North, Enfield South, and Edmonton.

What we can offer:

  • If you are vulnerable, and you are in need of food and supplies we are working with charities to arrange to bring these to you.
  • If you are isolated at home and can’t get out to go shopping, we have local businesses that can deliver full meals to you, or offer a shopping service or even pick items up.
  • If you need help we are here to help so please reach out by filling in this form. We have people waiting so please don’t think twice.  https://forms.gle/RjrM1mQrCv8HPmVKA

The weekly Love Your Doorstep newsletter includes an update on Coronavirus volunteering

We want to thank the hundreds of local people who have registered to volunteer for the Borough wide Coronavirus approach.

Love Your Doorstep are working with over 30 charity and community organisations who are communicating multiple times a day.

The last 11 days have been huge:

Over 250 local residents have received phone calls from our team of volunteers

Over 120 Food Bank parcels have been packed and delivered

Shopping is now being done and delivered to those who need it.

Medications are being picked up and delivered.

Mass amounts of food are being moved around the borough to make sure our Food Bank and The Felix project are constantly replenished.

NHS/Ambulance/Police have received food as they are working huge shifts and are our front line people.

Vulnerable families are receiving food whose children would normally receive school meals.

Our elderly are being teamed up with buddies so they don’t feel so isolated with a friendly voice on the end of the phone.

This is the highest community response we have ever seen and the heartwarming stories and people reaching out to help is overwhelming.

We are all exhausted, this isn’t a sprint it’s going to be a marathon and as a community we will get through this if we work together.

If you’d like to volunteer you can join the group here: www.facebook.com/groups/199996334433493/?ref=share

If you’d like to make a donation to the appeal you can do so here:

Full details of the appeal and who we are working with can be found here

Please do make sure you use the community forum to stay in touch with each other. We will also be collating some ideas for things to do during self-isolation or homeschooling with your children. We are all in this together!

Keep safe and well Enfield,

Emma & Team

I am sure anyone can help in this awful situation. I decided to give for free all my unnecessary baby staff to people who are having difficulties at the moment. I found a moving company that suggested a huge discount so the transportation is not an issue or too big expense.
