The Enfield Society has published its 2025 summer newsletter - the 238th edition of this information-packed publication with the usual mix of fascinating news about the borough's past, present and future.

You can download the newsletter, and previous issues dating back to 2005, from the Enfield Society website. You don't need to be a member, but with membership starting at £5 a year and the fees going towards funding the Society's many areas of work, it's certainly worth considering!

The Enfield Society summer newsletter is out!

This edition leads with the recent shocking news of the felled ancient oak in Whitewebbs Park. We also take an in-depth look at the planning conditions which have been issued following the agreement to give a lease to Spurs.

Following our recent work with the Local Heritage List we have an article on a new project to record the borough’s street furniture. We feature a major project in Broomfield Park which will see the house demolished and improvements made to the parkland. We have updates on planning and restoring the mosaics at Enfield Chase station and an article by Stephen Gilburt on Baker Street’s historic buildings. Plus our regular talks listings and other events.
