There are three options for recycling your real Christmas tree.
Have it collected by North London Hospice
You can book your collection from Saturday 15 November 2025 until midnight on Sunday 4 January 2026 if you live in one of these postcodes – N2, N3, N9, N11, N12, N13, N14, N18, N20, N21, NW11, EN1, EN2, EN3, EN4, EN5, EN6, or EN8 .
For a small donation, the hospice's wonderful volunteers will collect your tree between Wednesday 7 and Friday 9 January 2026, making sure it’s disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
Use the garden waste collection service
If you subscribe to the garden waste collection service, put your tree out on your usual garden waste collection day.
Remove all decorations and pots. If your tree is taller than 6ft, cut it into smaller pieces to keep collection staff safe.
Take it to Barrowell Green or Edmonton Eco Park
Real Christmas trees can also be taken to Barrowell Green Recycling Centre and the Edmonton Eco Park. Booking may be required - please check online.
