While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.
Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.
For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.
Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
Bob Griffiths has kindly emailed copies of the key illustrations giving possible road layouts for Green Lanes. One is for stretches with little or no retail activity and one which might apply to Palmers Green where there are shops etc on both sides of the road. Each starts with an "as now" cross section, which is followed by possible layouts using the same overall shop frontage to shop frontage distance across the road so they are intended to be easily comparable.

A new film with footage of Palmers Green is now out - and Talkies hasn't yet shown it.
The film is a little wobbly - understandably, since the cameraman, Paul Smith, was filming while riding a bike from Enfield Town to Harringay along one of the proposed new improved cycle routes included in the "Mini-Holland/Cycle Enfield" scheme, to get a better idea of whether or not the proposed new cycle lanes are needed.
His verdict? "A route with great potential for cyclists if the Enfield council has.......
Further information about how the Cycle Enfield project (formerly "Mini-Holland") will be implemented has been provided by Liam Mulrooney, the council officer who heads the Traffic, Road Safety and Parking Group in Enfield Council's Regeneration and Environment Department. This confirms and supplements the information contained in a recent letter from Mr Mulrooney regarding implementation of Cycle Enfield in Palmers Green.
On Thursday Mr Mulrooney told a meeting of the Enfield.......
In response to a Freedom of Information request, Enfield Council have provided drawings from late 2013 showing the concepts, at that time, for implementing cycle lanes along the Palmers Green and Winchmore Hill stretch of Green Lanes. As we reported in April on the basis of another document, the newly released material does show parking bays at various points along Green Lanes between Bourne Hill and the Triangle - on the eastern side only between Bourne Hill and Fox Lane and on both sides.......
